Highland Wedding Grand National Wins
- 1969 - ridden by Eddie Harty trained by G B ‘Toby’ Balding

Highland Wedding had three runs in the Grand National during his career, and it was very much a case of third time lucky for him, as he would land the race on his final attempt at winning it.
A debut 8th in 1966 was bettered by a 7th-placed finish in 1968. As a 12-year-old, he returned to the race for one final crack at it in 1969, and he would come home from the field in front to deliver his victory.
This horse would give Toby Balding the first of two Grand National wins while jockey Eddie Harty was riding his one and only Grand National winner here.
Running on very quick, officially firm ground, the test for this race wasn’t as strong as it can be for the Grand National, and that’s definitely something that helped Highland Wedding get home in front, as it appeared he had run out of stamina in his other two attempts.
Highland Wedding’s Big Race Wins
There is no record of Highland Wedding winning any other big races during his career other than the Grand National in 1969. Records from this time are generally well-kept and available, so we must assume from that this horse didn’t have any other big race wins.
