Hyland Grand National Wins
Hyland has never won the Grand National.
They have never finished the race.

Trained by Nicky Henderson, whatever Hyland does in the Grand National during his career, he’s likely to always be well-backed. That’s thanks to his colour, a grey horse, which are always popular in the race with punters not familiar with the form book.
The horse has shown a liking for longer distances, while he’s also shown himself to be very strong over the bigger obstacles, both of which are needed to compete in a race such as the Grand National.

Hyland’s Early Years
The start of Hyland’s career saw him run over hurdles, where he would have a total of 10 starts, kept busy by his trainer, and that would result in three wins for him.
The best of those came in a competitive class 2 handicap at Cheltenham, where he used his stamina to his advantage and bagged the win.
The 2023/24 season was where he began life over the bigger obstacles, and straight away, he made his mark, showing that chasing was going to be his strong point.
He would land three wins from his first four starts over fences, including a nice win at Warwick. Highlight as a novice chaser came at Kempton in December 2024 when he was second, beaten two and a half lengths, in a Grade One contest by The Jukebox Man.
Moving forward into open company, Hyland has continued to perform well in top handicap races, showing he’s got the class to mix it with the best.
A close second in the Ladbrokes Trophy of 2025 at Kempton was the perfect prep run before his Grand National 2025 bid. It was over three miles, and while that was the furthest he’d ever been over, the evidence of him finishing races strongly and having plenty more to offer definitely gave hope that he would be able to stay the Grand National trip.
He got so close, but was pulled up at fence 29. A strong debut nevertheless.
