Idas Boy Grand National Wins
Idas Boy has never won the Grand National.
They have never finished the race.

Foaled in 2014, Idas Boy has been trained in both the UK and Ireland during his career so far. While he’s yet to get to the very top of racing, his rating and good form have seen him targeted at some of the bigger races on the calendar.
They included the Grand National, for the first time in 2025. He would head to Aintree that year when trained by Richard Phillips, ridden by Harry Bannister. However, they would not be able to complete the course, pulling up after jumping 27 fences to go out of the race.
To begin life on the track, he was initially trained in Ireland by Noel Meade, owned by the Gigginstown Stud.
July 2024 saw his highlight so far, when he won the Irish Midlands National at Kilbeggan, still trained in Ireland at that point.
He showcased his stamina and love of all things long distance that day, and not too long after that, he was bought and sent to the UK, to be trained by Phillips. From then, the plan was always the Grand National, with a prep run over hurdles making sure he was fit for the Aintree test, but also protecting his handicap mark.
