Kandoo Kid Grand National Wins
Kandoo Kid has never won the Grand National.
They have never finished the race.

Kandoo Kid was born and bred in France, but during his early years, the horse was bought and sent to the Paul Nicholls yard, where he would be trained in Britain.
Beginning in bumpers, he worked his way through the ranks, firstly with flat races, followed by hurdles, and then moving on to chase races. His breeding always suggested that chasing would see him in his very best light, so everything he did in his younger days, over hurdles and in flat races, was all a bonus.
During his time in bigger races, he’s always attracted interest by being a grey horse, and when he went to the Grand National for the first time in 2025, he was well-backed. If he were able to win a Grand National, then he’d definitely go down as a popular winner due to his colour alone, never mind anything else.

Kandoo Kid’s Early Years
Beginning life, the likeable grey runner would race in three national hunt flat races, winning on his third of those starts. He would then go onto hurdles, again having three starts in this discipline, winning one of them, which was his first start.
After that, he went up in grade but wasn’t able to get any more hurdle wins under his belt.
But it was chasing that was always going to bring out the best in him, and that proved to be the case. A win and three second-placed efforts came in his first four starts as a novice, and all were in strong races, showing he had the class to compete in top-quality events.
At the end of that season, he would go to the Aintree Grand National meeting to run in the Topham Chase, a race over the Grand National fences. It was a tricky jumping test for a horse so young, with little experience, but that didn’t stop Kandoo Kid from making a big impression, finishing third and going down by just two lengths.
He would win the Coral Gold Cup (formerly known as the Hennessy) at the start of the 24/25 season, showing him to be one of the top staying handicap chasers in training, and it was all systems go for the Grand National after that.
A very likeable runner, one that will catch the eye of seasoned punters and the once a year gamblers due to his colour, Kandoo Kid is developing into a top quality staying chaser who loves the kind of test a Grand National brings.
