2022 | Enjoy D'allen | Fence 1 - Unseated Rider | - | Ciaran Murphy |
Conor Orr took his first-ever ride in the Aintree Grand National in 2022, a race where he didn’t get too far. Orr sadly unseated off Enjoy D’Allen at the very first fence and will, of course, be hoping to get much further when he has other chances to ride in the race in the future.
A highly regarded young jockey on the pony scene in Ireland, Orr really made a name for himself in that sphere, and it seemed only a matter of time before he moved over to horse riding after that.
It’s a move he made, and while success hasn’t yet come in big numbers, a relationship riding out for Gordon Elliott has certainly opened the door to more rides for him. Based in Ireland, when he does come over to the UK shores, it is to ride horses that are also making the trip over the Irish Sea.
He is very much a jockey that has more to come in the future, and he will be hoping that includes more rides on bigger stages, such as the festivals at Punchestown and Cheltenham and. In terms of single races, the Grand National will be at the top of the pile.
