2023 Recite A Prayer Fence 1 - Unseated Rider - Willie Mullins

Beginning his career as an amateur jockey, Jack Foley picked up his first win under rules on board Rock Chica for Tom Mullins in October 2020. At 21 years old, when this happened, Foley would then turn professional soon after this in order to further his racing career and make a real go of it.

While keeping a close bond with Tom Mullins, Foley also branched out, picking up rides elsewhere for a number of different smaller trainers and being able to move up the ranks and work with some of the biggest names in Ireland.

Willie Mullins, another member of the vast Mullins racing family, was one to give Foley a chance with a selected number of rides. That would lead the pair to team up on the biggest stage, the Grand National.

In 2023, Jack Foley would have his first ride in the Aintree Grand National, and this would come while riding an outsider for Willie Mullins, called upon by Mullins after he had used his regular riders and needed some more.

However, the first experience of Aintree for Foley was not a good one. On board Recite A Prayer, the partnership would reach the first fence only, with Foley being unseated by his ride, putting an end to their challenge.
