James Reveley Grand National Wins
James Reveley has never won the Grand National.
Their best finish to date was in 2016 with Vieux Lion Rouge who came 7th.
James Reveley was born in North Yorkshire, and while his career would begin there, he would move away to gain success and grow his reputation.
In terms of the Grand National, he would make his debut in the race in 2009, when he rode Rambling Minister for his father Keith, from then on, his career would be varied and widely spread.
The Reveley family have a long history with horse racing, alongside his father being a successful trainer, his grandmother, Mary, was also successful when it came to training horses.
Reveley would begin his riding career in Britain, with his first win coming in 2005. Early notable success came with Rambling Minister, who would win the 2009 Blue Square Gold Cup at Haydock, before Reveley sent him to the Grand National.

Move to France to Progress Career
Huge credit to James for trying to engineer success for himself, he made the big decision to move to France in order to progress his riding career. Not only moving away from his native country, but also away from his family, who had given him the start he needed in racing.
However, the move would deliver outstanding results for the jockey, who quickly established himself as a name to follow on the French scene. He would win the French Jump Jockey title in 2016, 2021 and 2022.
In 2021, his numbers were particularly impressive, with 102 winners in the season, and over €4 million amassed in prize money, this despite not winning a Grade One contest that year, which offers the best prize money.
From 2016 to 2018, Reveley would win the Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris, one of the biggest races in France, for three consecutive years. He would win the first two on So French, and the last one aboard On The Go. This made him just the second ever jockey to achieve a hat-trick in France’s premier race over jumps.
The year 2024 saw Reveley return to the British racing scene with a bang and, in the process, secure his first Grade One success on UK soil. He got the win aboard a French horse, as Il Est Francais would win the Kauto Star Novices’ Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day. It was a special victory, the horse was magnificent, and it’s a race that Keith Reveley won in 2006.
Reveley doesn’t have many chances to ride in the Grand National, due to being based in France, but has come over for selected opportunities, though he is yet to get a win on the board.
