Kitty's Light Grand National Wins
Kitty's Light has never won the Grand National.
Their best finish to date was in 2024 where they came 5th. They were ridden by Jack Tudor and trained by Christian Williams.
Foaled in 2016, Kitty’s Lights has had an exceptionally busy career. A brief beginning with flat racing in 2019, it was soon identified that Kitty’s lights was made for chase and hurdles. Owned by RJ Bedford and All Stars Sports racing who brand themselves as an ‘affordable racing’ group, Kitty’s Light has certainly earned some money from his chase and rules racing.
The Owners have a close link with trainer Christian Williams who has himself been in the saddle six times for the Grand National from 2005 to 2010. Returning as a trainer initially with Poets Corner in 2021.
Kitty’s Light sprang to fame in 2023 coming first in the Scottish Grand National following an excellent start to 2023 in all of his races. All of Kitty’s Light big races have been around 3 miles and under which suggests the longer odds of 12/1, despite the excellent runs in 2023, that additional mile in the Grand National could be a challenge.

2024 Grand National
Kitty’s Light first entry to the Grand National and at a prime age of 8. Following his success in the Scottish Grand National in 2023, the Grand National will have been in sights and all training since will have been geared up for the extra distance and development of stamina and strength in higher jumps.
Kitty’s Light stayed midfield for the most part of the race, comfortable among the crowd. The first circuit of the course felt quite slow, Kitty’s Light being one of those pacemaker horses. Its a job to tell if he was enjoying the gallop or really pushing at full throttle for his pace. Jockey, Jack Tudor will certainly know what else might be in Kitty’s Light’s locker for October 2024 onwards.
At the 23rd Jump, Kitty’s Light took a brief lead, but just couldn’t maintain it to enable a great distance in front. That said he was a contender for the leaders and pressed them forward. A loose horse may have impacted his chances at this late stage. Taking 5th place, Kitty’s Light had an excellent race and proved that the extra distance was quite within his reach.
