2024 Grand National

Being the stable companion of the 2024 winner, I Am Maximus, Meetingofthewaters was also a firm favourite, and with Odds of 11/1 there was certainly an expectation from punters that the horse was going to enjoy himself and do well.
After his end of season break in 2023, he returned with some tremendous successes at Cork and Leopardstown in beginners races. Showing strength, precisions and staying power; the perfect mix for a solid grand national run.
At this point he transitioned to being ridden by a more experienced jockey pool, including Brian Hayes, Walsh and Danny Mullins. A rapidly improving horse.
Overall the race was fairly non eventful, staying midfield throughout, jumping well and clear. He tired towards the end, but he is still young.
Placing seventh was a very strong result based on his starting price, age, experience and it being his first attempt over the Aintree fences.
He returned in 2025 and performed better, again ridden by Danny Mullins and finishing 5th. We could well see him again in 2026.
