The Goffer Grand National Wins
The Goffer has never won the Grand National.
Their best finish to date was in 2024 where they came 13th. They were ridden by Sean Bowen and trained by Gordon Elliott.
Foaled in May 2017, a Bay Gelding. Owned by Alan Snow and as at 2024 being trained by Gordon Elliott. He has a pair of very distinctive white socks on his hind legs.
Being in the Elliott yard, The Goffer will inevitably get the chances at the big time runs, with races under his belt in 2024 at Cheltenham and Punchestown.
The 2024 season was all about getting him ready for the Ultima in Cheltenham, pitched as a favourite. However he came a respectable 5th place, but not quite what was expected.
A strong stayer none the less but seems to have the best luck in the shorted distances. Over 4 miles might be a little too much especially with a handicapper having their weights added.

2024 Grand National
Under the experienced Grand National jockey Sean Bowen, The Goffer had a pretty smooth run, staying midfield early on, inside the well spaced out pack. Towards the end, 3 fences to go he showed some promise and was up their with the final winners second from the last fence. However at the very end he weakened and fell into 13th place. For a 7 year old, and depending on the rest of 2024 and into 2025 we may see him have another chance.
