Patrick Griffin

Patrick Griffin is a racehorse trainer based in Ireland, and so far during his career, he’s had limited success and is yet to taste anything at the higher levels, such as in Graded company.

However, despite not winning any huge races, he has been able to have a handful of runners represent him in the better contests, and that includes in the Grand National. Griffin first debuted in the race in 2018, when he saddled Maggio in the contest, a horse who failed to finish the race, exiting at the 18th fence after just over a circuit of the race.

Five years later, he saddled his second runner in the race, this was Roi Mage, and this horse did manage to finish the course and came a respectable seventh position under jockey Felix de Giles. Given the string of horses he has in training, regular Grand National runners may not always come from the Griffin yard, but he does now have experience of the race and knows what it takes to get involved in a race of this nature.
