Henry Daly is a name that many people will associate with national hunt racing. He first began training back in 1998 and has spent his time improving his yard, both in terms of the quality of his horses and the number he trains.
With over 600 winners under his belt, including big ones at the Cheltenham Festival and Aintree Grand National Festival, Daly has plenty of racing experience at the top table. He’s overseen a win in the Welsh Grand National, while the main race at Aintree hasn’t gone his way just yet.
You have to go back to the year 2000 to find Henry Daly’s first Grand National runner, one that didn’t end too well for him. This was just two years after he started to train under rules, and the horse he sent to the Grand National was Star Traveller, but ultimately, he was pulled up and taken out of the race at the 27th fence.
Despite being a mainstay of British national hunt racing and having some nice horses in the yard, the Grand National has alluded Henry Daly so far.
